Saving Money: The purpose of this site is to show you the many ways to save money and avoid costly mistakes. Most lenders exist for one reason and one reason only; to make money.. The more of it you save for yourself and earn interest on, the better off you are.
If this site saves you some money please drop a tiny bit of it here. Surely it will help, but you don't have to and I won't ask anywhere else. I don't use AdWords or some other revenue generating program. After all the point is to save you money. Not make it. That said my wife is undergoing chemotherapy and the expenses are unreal. Please do donate if you can. It will certainly help us.
Here I can show you how to save on everyday expenses like rent, mortgage, car purchases, transportation (in general), credit cards, and on 'luxury' purchases. There is a page devoted to foreclosure and what to do if notified. Since foreclosure impacts renters too there's information for those situations as well. There is a terms section to help explain all those nebulous terms lenders and financial advisors use. You'll also find spreadsheets (Windows and Open Office) to help you get a handle on things.
Look to your left for the links. Living Frugally covers most expenses and how to save. Save on Food is about tricks grocery stores use to get you to buy from name-brand vendors and Buying a Car covers the best and worst models in resale value and reliablity. Credit Cards talk about the dangers of credit cards and what the contracts actually say. Financial Terms is a dictionary of common monetary terms (in progress). Spreadsheets are sprinkled throughout. The Spreadsheets link is the entire collection of them with text explaining what they are for. I recently removed SoCal Vactions; now does not seem to be the time to have fun.
